Assistant Principal Holt

Welcome Marvelous Mustangs! My name is Shelby Holt, and I am honored to serve as your Assistant Principal at Mount Auburn STEAM Academy for the 2025–26 school year. I am thrilled to continue being part of the Mustang family and to serve our amazing community for another year.

My journey into education was unexpected - I originally dreamed of becoming a wedding planner! After graduating from Abilene Christian University with a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, I wasn’t sure which career path to take. I decided to try teaching “for a little while” until I found my real career. Very quickly, I learned two things: teaching is anything but easy, and I had discovered my true passion - helping students grow and succeed.

I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher in Dallas ISD in 2013 and have since taught first grade, fourth grade, and served as a Reading/Language Arts Instructional Coach. In 2017, I earned my Master’s in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from The University of Texas at Arlington. Over the past 12 years, my heart for education has only grown stronger.

I believe every student deserves a high-quality education and has the ability to learn and thrive. My commitment is to support our teachers, students, and families so that every Mustang has the tools, opportunities, and encouragement they need to succeed. While challenges will arise, I promise to be a partner, a resource, and a champion for our school community.
